Well, I went and saw the Watchmen Director's Cut yesterday morning at the Rave Theatre in Dallas. Even though I live in Dallas, I still had to make an hour drive to get to the theater (is it spelled theater or theatre btw?). My fiancee and I went bright and early and got to take a few pics. Here's the movie poster in direct sunlight (lol):

What a fucking awesome poster. I'd but it.

And this is the movie theater:

When I first saw theater 2 years ago, I honestly thought it was a dance club!  XD

Anyway, the movie was great! I really enjoyed all that extra crap, especially Hollis Mason's scene.  :)   The flashbacks were a great addition. There was also more Rorschach and Nite Owl talking/arguing scenes which helped to affirm my belief that they regularly had sex in Archie (but weren't necessarily in love). And it was great getting to see the first character that I fell in love with: Dr.Manhattan! GAWD what a sexy bod! XD  I never noticed how great his ass was... and now I think I like the color blue more than ever... :3

BUT, ALAS--there was one thing that I was VERY disappointed by! It wasn't the movie... it was the theater attendance. There were only like... 10 people there in total! I was like WTF!! I mean, yeah, I saw the 10:45 am showing, but when I saw the early morning screening of the Wolverine movie, there were at least 25 people there!  :(   I was very unhappy with this. I definitely expected more people to be there. I feel so sad for all the folks who worked on this wonderful movie! I hope the DVD sales pick it up...

Okay well, aside from that screening, an interesting thing that I'd like to report is that I found out what Rorschach thinks of Jackie Earle Haley!  :)

Rorschach twitters due to the fact that he no longer has his journal (or a journal, period). You should add him as a friend... right now.

Till next time, fellow LJ users!  :)

EDIT: OH! I forgot to mention! If you're in the Dallas area, there are still tickets available for the Watchmen Director's Cut! Go get 'em!  :D  www.movietickets.com/house_detail.asp

Howdy fellow LJ users! :D I got sum more great avy's to share! And this time, I really concentrated on making the gif file sizes small enough to be used here. It was tough and a lot of picture quality was lost, but it's all for the sake of being able to use them!

But... despite my best efforts... there are still some that are far too great for LJ.   u__u

Redundant, much?

I read this fanfic by [info]the_bad_faery a few days ago and--need I say?--it is an amazing story. The synopsis is "Rorschach gets amnesia and Daniel has to take care of him." The reactions of Dan and Walter seem so realistic and well-timed. Even though it is somewhat difficult to follow locations, the way the well-written dialog plays out is what makes it worthwhile. The story can be found here: the-bad-faery.livejournal.com/1149.html.

Spoilers behind the Cut )

I hope the writer gets to see this. Your story inspired me this much! :)</div>

The million-dollar question of the century we left up to me yesterday. I had nine dollars in cash (and I RARELY carry cash) and one choice to make. I was really craving some chocolate ice cream... either in a cone or as a shake... but my man and I were really in need of some love gloves.

I went with the gloves. I would still like some ice cream right now.

Also--I saw the Star Trek movie and it was really great! I now think that Vulcans are a kind-of sexy race of people. I mean, if they're taught to inhibit and control their emotions, but still experience them to a degree beyond human emotion, then you can only imagine what it would be like to be in BED with one of them.  @__@

He could put those fingers to better use.

But the movie itself was still great! Got to see some young faces quote some well-known lines, which I'm sure the true Star Trek fans enjoyed.

I liked this movie better than the Wolverine movie. That movie was just too predictable for me. I mean, it was great getting to see Hugh Jackman's sexy ass, but the audience was really spoon-fed.  :/  And then there's suppose to be another one in the making, which a lot of Marvel fans are already frowning upon. At least wait until the Avengers movie comes out before you even START on the next Wolverine film! And what about the Magneto and X-Men: First Class movies? I am really hoping that the latter doesn't feature too much Wolvie...

I can't believe I'm going to say this... but STOP with the guns and knives already!

And, for my final notes: I still love the Watchmen all the same. I hope I get to have an encounter with Jackie Earle Haley for some autographs soon! :)  I think a trip to Chicago is currently in the works! Also, FINALS ARE OVER!!! Time for summer-long work! :)

Till next time,

Well... I'm new here... and I didn't quite come here on "free will."  Ya see... I'm a big Watchmen and Jackie Earle Haley fan, and I've seen that some of the best communities for both are located here at LJ. I hope I enjoy my time here, and well, I think the best way to introduce myself is by posting this Watchmen Meme that I did over at DeviantArt. It pretty much sums up who I am and what I enjoy. So, here ya go:

My DeviantArt page can be found at dbzchuck/deviantart.com/. I really love drawing, so if you're at DA as well, check me out!

Well, I'm off to the JEH fans page, hope to meet some new people soon!  :)
